[ The device falls to the ground, switching to video just in time to show Pence chasing down Smoochum (holding a half-eaten granola bar) just outside the store, while Rhyhorn munches quietly on the grass outside and enjoys the show. ]

[ Hear that, Route? That's the sound of Pence getting his pokegear working! the video function is the first thing to happen, and you'll be getting an upside-down view of Pence's face before he turns it around. ]

I wonder what else it does... Maybe something on here can tell me where I am.

[ beep boop beep. Nothin' helpful here, buddy. Except you might want to turn around, there's a Rhyhorn staring over your shoulder. ]

Maybe it's some sort of alien communication device or something. I bet if I press here...huh?

[ Pence seems to have noticed the giant pokemon behind him. Friendly greeting in 3...2...1... ]

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHH!

[ Pence immediately takes off for Route 29 just as he clicks off the feed. Anyone nearby might notice a kid running one way and a terrified Rhyhorn heading for the trees. Have fun with that. ]

Pence's current Pokemon Party


Rhyhorn | Level 29
Nature: Timid, quick to flee
Ability: Lightning Rod
Met at New Bark Town
Moveset: Horn Attack, Tail Whip, Stomp, Fury Attack
For being such a strong, large pokemon, Rhyhorn is extremely skittish, and would rather flee from an encounter than stay and fight. In fact, Rhyhorn and Pence were terrified of one another when they first met. Rhyhorn is kind and friendly, but still easily startled and will not easily trust anyone other than Pence. He enjoys giving Pence rides along the routes and running around when he gets the chance to. Rhyhorn also seems to be Pence's most loyal pokemon, but unfortunately isn't very bright, and often requires correction and guidance.
For some reason, Rhyhorn seems reluctant to evolve. He seems to have decided that he's perfectly fine the way he is. Pence usually lets Rhyhorn stay out of his pokeball.


Smoochum | Level 1 | Valentine, or "Val"
Nature: Naive, highly curious
Ability:
Hatched from a "Mystery Egg" purchased from Yuffie
Moveset: Pound
Val hatched shortly after Pence obtained her egg. She's a very curious little pokemon, always inspecting her surroundings...and sometimes the contents of Pence's backpack. She loves to nibble and snack as well, and has a fondness for chocolate. She also has a fondness for wandering off on her own, giving Pence a hard time when he can't seem to find her.
Val dislikes fighting and battling, and prefers to stay on the sidelines with Pence rather than taking part in battles. She tends to act as a cheerleader of sorts, or a mascot for Pence and Rhyhorn rather than a combatant.

What happened? ...why am I in the hospital?

Has anyone drawn out a map of the city? I could really use one; I think there's some spots that I haven't looked yet when it comes to finding out more about Discedo. You never know how much you can learn about the town's history from the weirdest things!
